Why Is It So Expensive to Build An SEG?

This blog is dedicated to the people out there who barely passed high school science but think they can build an SEG, or even for those that are highly skilled professionals who think they can build one. The concept is simple, yet amazingly complex at the same time and reading different forums and discussions about this throughout the internet, I thought it would be a good idea to shed some light on this specific subject to answer people's questions and shut some other people up for a while.

Let me start with the basics... the SEG is made up of thousands of parts, not just a couple of ring magnets and cylinder magnets like it appears at a glance. Each of the components in the SEG have to be made from the same exact mold and material, meaning you can't use another batch of copper in a second pass to make additional rings or rollers, it's all or nothing. Not only that, but the materials, once processed and created, have to be machined down to micron specifications. That's basically within the same precision as the thickness of a human hair. The physics required is that every material throughout every ring and roller must be processed at the same time so that the atoms "match" and their molecular structure is consistent across the entire machine. In order to achieve the magnetization required to imprint the rings and rollers with the appropriate magnetic fields, a special machine is required to do so. This is because it imprints both AC and DC current at once, using very large amounts of both. This machine that was used to do this specifically is custom built, it isn't one you can buy, and there are only a few places in the world that have the capability of creating this machine. When professor Searl worked for a power company in his younger years, he had access to this equipment but today, they are not as easily attained. This is why you can't just run out and buy some magnets to make them spin in your garage and make power. You could probably demonstrate the simpler concepts with it, such as how Rochin and Godin (Google it) did and were able to show that the effect was real. This isn't "pseudoscience" like so many skeptics call it, there is solid scientific documentation on their experiment and results. Just because some people can't grasp or understand what they have discovered, or don't understand the physics of it themselves, doesn't make it pseudoscience. This same pseudoscience that the "real" scientists refer to is what has sparked innovation and new scientific discoveries for hundreds of years, not just what the lab rats do.

So here is what it comes down to... if you wanted to build an SEG, you would need to have access to the powders and raw materials such as copper and neodymium. You would also need the machines to press the neodymium and other materials (such as tin) and the ability to "treat" the neodymium to prevent corrosion. This is commonly achieved in an argon gas chamber. This is a very difficult process and requires special equipment that would cost you thousands, if not tens of thousands of dollars, probably more. Once you have these materials created providing you know how to create and process them, you then need to machine them down on a special lathe that can shave the materials down to millionths of an inch without compromising the structure of the material (such as cracks or blemishes). This takes extensive time as well as money for the equipment to accomplish this, not to mention all of the equipment for weighing and measuring. Aside from all of the processing and materials required, it won't help you at all if you don't understand the math behind it, which is a closely guarded secret of Searl's even though he explains his principles using the Law of Squares. Without all of these things, you can't even begin to assemble an SEG, even if you had the specifications. Still think it's so simple? Do you have the money and resources to build one? I implore you to try then.... it will only be for the good of mankind.

I've followed Professor Searl's work for quite some time and his concepts are legitimate and scientifically sound. I have many valuable resources that I could share, but not unless people are really interested in them and for the right reasons. If I could, I would build an SEG since I have most of the information available to do so, but I know damn well that it takes a team of highly skilled, trustworthy individuals with the time, dedication, motivation and resources to make it happen. That in itself can be a greater challenge than proving something scientifically. It doesn't take a scientist to figure that out, just common sense.

For exactly the same reason it would have been expensive and very difficult to build a replica of the first Television Set the month it came out.

This is what will be said about the technology of today's SEG in about 10 - 15 years.

I would go so far as too say neodimium won't even be used.

We are finding out in leaps and bounds that everything we know of is made of energy - there is going to be some very profound accomplishments in regards to designing materials that will suit our needs in the very near future and although what you say about trying to build an SEG Generator today is absolutely the truth - tomorrow it will become a simple task. I have always looked upon all new technologies as the Model T - our track record of events past show that once something is proven possible it seems that in no time at all so many improved changes take place that improved future versions of the original product barely resemble the original. There will come a day when the SEG will have no moving physical parts - the designated job of the rollers will take place on a printed circuit - the materials used for the first proto type will become lighter, smaller and much more efficient and there will come a day when putting together an SEG Generator will be childs play to any bright young man. Without the Model T Ford there would be no Dodge Viper today nor would there be an F16 without the 13 second flight Orval and Wilber took not all that many years ago. You are totally correct in suggesting someone would need his head examined if he thought he could build an SEG in his garage the way it is designed today - he would have a far better chance of success if he decided to build a bridge over the Atlantic to England.

Uhmm... this makes no sense. If one has the physical specifications, and follows them precisely, then one should be able to assemble it, whether they understand it or not, as long as the specifications themselves are precise enough.

I'm sure there are many people that would love to, but ultimately they do not have the physical specifications for the device. Whether or not these specifications can be derived from the law of the squares is irrelevant to the fact that the actual physical detailed specifications are not openly published anywhere. When they are, and people still can't replicate his effects, then I'd be inclined to conclude that you are correct, but not before.

I happen to think there's something interesting happening in the SEG that warrants further scientific research and experimentation, but even that curiosity is impaired by the simple fact that the physical specifications of the SEG are not freely available.

To your point Mark, I respect your opinion on things but to say it makes no sense is exactly the kind of thinking that prolongs and prevents progress for this project.

In actuality, if you had really invested the time to read as much or all of the materials involved in the SEG and Professor Searl's work as I have over the last 10 years, you would know that there was a brief time before funding was secured (for about 2 years) where ALL of the specifications and materials were available and public - I have the copies that were published, most of which were online. Other bits and pieces were spread around in his books. When you put them all together, you get a complete picture of the SEG. Why haven't I ventured to do this myself? I have actually demonstrated the concept of magnets moving each other with no force past a wire and inducing current, but not in a manner consistent enough to produce sustained electricity. That is what requires the expensive machinery and precision and thus, the money from investors. The cheapest I've been able to find an old, used magnetizer with the requirements necessary for SEG production has been just a little over $300K. The lathes used to machine the materials down can cost over a million. That doesn't include the machines for pressing the powders and magnetic materials together or any of the other measuring devices and sensitive equipment.

I've done several presentations on the physics of the SEG and I can assure you, the science is sound and can be mostly explained without re-writing any physics books. In order for Searl and his team to take things to the next step, they have been using their own money, not investors to try and fund everything, which was when all of the information and specifications were public. Since someone else is paying for the millions of dollars worth of equipment as well as time and resources, they had to keep things quiet so that person could return their investment. It's basic business 101.

To understand a little more of the science, check into zero point energy. There are tons of respected scientists that support it and therefore will not say that what Searl claims to have done is impossible anymore. It is believed that this is the source of the energy, although it goes by several different terms in the scientific community. If you're really interested in more specifications, Rochin and Godin, two Russian scientists who are now securing funding of their own for a similar invention, replicated Searl's work using more archaic means and were still able to prove that the specifications, even when not properly followed, would still produce electricity and gravity shielding effects. They have extensive information in the report and technical papers that they filed with scientific journals. I can provide volumes of information behind the physics and explain just about every aspect of the SEG and how it works. There are also libraries of information that Searl has published as well as other very credible scientists that have conducted experiments involving the same principles and yielding results similar in nature to Searl's. Even with two very bright scientists having the proper specifications, they still had to resort to cruder methods due to lack of equipment, and failed to match the specifications exactly. But the concept was still proven and demonstrated by another party and could not be replicated to the same level of precision to sustain the electricity without a "runaway" effect that eventually leads to the materials melting down, which is why it requires the exact specifications Searl has published, in turn requiring the equipment that I previously mentioned. I would conclude that I'm correct. :)

Don't listen to the skeptics... those are the same people that once said the world was flat! Time has changed, people haven't... there will always be non-believers even when they see it with their own eyes. If you want facts instead of fiction, I'm happy to oblige. Something else to consider... when Einstein used a new type of math for the most complex physics in the universe, the scientific community laughed at him initially. Now look at where physics is because of that math. The Law of Squares is Searl's new type of math (not really new) and just like Einstein's equations, they will change physics and eventually be simplified or re-written into something easier to understand.
